Local Government Diary is the voice of real conversations from within Australia's Local Government sector.

Founded by Arvind Lal — a consultant, trainer, and former council executive — LGD was created to demystify how councils work, share leadership stories, and spotlight innovation in the sector.  Through interviews with Mayors, Councillors, General Managers, Executives, and industry partners, we explore the big issues, untold stories, and human side of Local Government.

Arvind has worked for Government Departments for several years and has seen thousands of bids, tenders and proposal and have now decided to share his knowledge on competitive bids through various medium.

Arvind now acts as the technical advisor to the Government Departments on various tendering and procurement and also provides training to companies on bid writing and tendering with government and other regulated organisations.

Arvind also works with the CEOs of various organisations to improve their systems and processes and helps them with strategies for efficiencies and growth. He also assists businesses with negotiations when stakes are high and they need clarity and direction for their approach.

Arvind is an Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering (NZ) and Master of Engineering (NSW) and is also a Chartered Professional Engineer. He is also a Fellow of Institute of Managers and Leaders of Australia and New Zealand.
